BLENHEIM (ROYAL) - JUNE 25-JULY 10
Blenheim is an old apricot variety made famous by fruit growers in the Santa Clara Valley where it grows nearly to perfection. It's an old heirloom, so venerated that the Slow Food organization has placed the iconic Blenheim variety on its list of endangered commercial fruit varieties. This quintessential apricot is a little finicky to grow but has all the classic apricot qualities: rich, aromatic flavor and juicy texture. It’s excellent for eating fresh, dried, frozen or canned. A universal favorite.

BING - MAY 25-JUNE 15
Bing sets the standard for dark sweet cherry varieties and is the primary variety grown in the Santa Clara Valley. It is the classic black bigarreau-type or the type having a firm, crisp texture. Bing is justly famous for its rich, complex flavor, suggesting that of almonds, black (morello) cherry, berry, prune and mocha.

BLACK TARTARIAN - MAY 20-JUNE 15
Black Tartarian is often nicknamed “Tart” but is far from being a tart or sour cherry, a completely different species of cherry, which when mixed with lots of sugar is used for pie filling. The word Tartarian actually refers to an ethnic group, the Tartars, who long ago settled in the Crimea (now part of the Ukraine) where the variety originated. The Black Tartarian is a soft, juicy sweet cherry called a heart or gean, it was a favorite of Catherine the Great of Russia. The rich, berry-like flavor is outstanding , and the ‘Black Tartarian’ does in fact make a mouth-watering sweet cherry pie. Ask for our recipe.

BROOKS - MAY 21-JUNE 10
Brooks is a new variety that’s fast becoming a favorite with our customers. The fruit is very crisp and sweet. Its flavor can be described as lower in acid than Bing with generally higher sugar levels, much like its parent, the Rainier. The fruit is often very large as well, making it one of the most asked for varieties at our farm stand.

RAINIER - JUNE 1-20
Rainier is a light-colored, beautifully blushed cherry with truly outstanding dessert quality. Its parents are Bing and Van. Coming from such aristocratic lines, the Rainier ranks at the top in many categories-- large size, crisp texture and high sugar content, certainly much crisper and sweeter than the old standard, Royal Ann, used primarily for processing. Use Rainier as a dessert cherry or you may process it as you would Royal Anns.

VAN - JUNE 10-25
Van is a large, dark cherry with a sprightly, refreshing flavor that is sometimes a welcome departure from the heavy, complex flavor of the Bing. Van is often a favorite at fruit tastings because of its lively flavor. Excellent for fresh eating.

ARCTIC BLAZE - AUGUST 15-SEPTEMBER 10
Our latest maturing white nectarine. Medium-sized clingstone with a very sweet, low-acid flavor.

ARCTIC GLO - JULY 5-15
An early-ripening white nectarine with what is described as a sprightly-sweet flavor. A clingstone. One of the very best early ripening white nectarines.

ARCTIC JAY - JULY 25-AUGUST 10
Harvest is concurrent with Heavenly White. Only slightly smaller than Heavenly White with a sweeter, milder flavor.

ARCTIC QUEEN - AUGUST 1-12
Arctic Queen is a very sweet white nectarine harvested right after Arctic Rose and Heavenly White. Almost as sweet as Arctic Rose but the fruit is often larger in size. The latest to be harvested of the long list of white nectarines that we grow.

ARCTIC ROSE - JULY 20-30
Possibly the sweetest fruit that we grow. Very sweet flavor is complemented by a rather pleasing bit of astringency, a slight bitter almond-like flavor, which makes it a favorite among those who appreciate such interesting flavors. We also dry this fruit, and it has become one of the most asked for dried fruits among our customers.

ARCTIC STAR - JULY 5-20
The first of the season for white fleshed nectarines. Very sweet for such an early ripening variety. Often sold at the same time as our Blenheim apricots.

BRIGHT PEARL - AUGUST 10-20
An excellent white nectarine that ripens with ‘Summer Bright.’ Very sweet flavor with firm, non-melting flesh. Full red skin often with attractive freckling. One of the best “new generation” nectarines.

HEAVENLY WHITE - AUGUST 5-15
May be the largest fruit we grow. An extremely large and voluptuous fruit, this white nectarine, when well-grown, also has truly outstanding texture, abundant juice and great taste with excellent sugar/acid balance—a very rich, aromatic, almost floral, white nectarine flavor. At its best when soft-ripe with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, often eliciting sighs of rapture among tasters. A small bruise here and there does not deter our customers from snapping up these huge, luscious, tree-ripened specimens.

HONEY KIST - JULY 10-25
One of the earliest yellow nectarines to ripen and one of the sweetest regardless of season. High sugar content with a very rich nectarine flavor sets this variety apart from many other yellow nectarines that ripen later. Truly one of the finest flavored fruits we grow; many of our customers simply love its candy-like sweetness combined with a full-bodied nectarine flavor. The variety is a clingstone.

HONEY ROYALE - AUGUST 5-15
Similar to Honey Kist with a low-acid nectarine flavor. Very sweet. Very large, highly blushed yellow nectarine with an oblong shape.

PANAMINT - AUGUST 10-25
Medium-sized, attractive red-skinned yellow freestone. An old, heirloom nectarine. Aromatic and intensely flavored. Very red around the pit. Excellent for dessert when tree-ripened.

REDGOLD - JULY 25-AUGUST 10
Redgold is not the prettiest nectarine, often yellow with an occasional blush, but a well-ripened Redgold is one of the best yellow nectarines. Flavor is rich and sweet with abundant juice.

RED DIAMOND - JULY 15-25
This nectarine is said to be the standard in quality for midseason yellow nectarines. It’s beautifully blushed with a juicy texture and the classic sweet/tart nectarine flavor.

SUMMER BRIGHT - AUGUST 10-20
A fully blushed yellow clingstone nectarine. Ripens about midseason. Outstanding flavor even when firm and crisp. Tree-ripened, it’s superb. Good acid levels.

SUMMER FIRE - JULY 30-AUGUST 10
Summer Fire is a relatively new commercial variety with firm texture and excellent flavor. It has clingstone flesh with much red coloration around the pit. Well-ripened fruit is juicy and much richer in flavor than ones that are “supermarket ripe.”

SUMMER GRAND - JULY 20-AUGUST 5
Summer Grand coincides with Redgold in harvest season. The two varieties are similar in appearance. The Summer Grand is a little more tart than Redgold, but Summer Grand may be a little richer in nectarine flavor.

WHITE ROSE - JULY 15-25
White Rose is an older white nectarine variety and is harvested between Snowqueen and Arctic Rose. A slight smack of astringency lingers even when it is ripe. It also has a little more acid than either Arctic Rose or Snowqueen, but the flavor is rich and the texture succulent.

ANGELUS - JULY 30-AUGUST 10
A very large, beautiful golden peach that’s similar to the old Elberta but with some improvements. Elbertas often have a smack of astringency and bruise quite easily. Angelus has great flavor with less astringency than Elberta, and Angelus can be tree-ripened with minimal bruising. It’s a very versatile variety that can be canned, frozen, dried or eaten fresh.

ARCTIC SUPREME - JULY 30-AUGUST 10
A luscious white clingstone peach with a high sugar/high acid combination that translates into superb flavor. This is Marta’s, our salesperson’s, favorite. It’s great for dessert, that is, eaten right out of one’s hand, or simply made into a quick dessert. Rich and luscious. Excellent when sliced with a little heavy cream added.

AUGUST FLAME - SEPTEMBER 1-10
This is a new hybrid peach with excellent flavor. Speckled, blushed and streaked with red. Very smooth, almost fuzzless skin. Yellow freestone flesh is firm but melting with a very rich peachy flavor. Maintains good acidity even when tree-ripened. Fine for fresh eating, canning and freezing. One of our very best late season peaches, often ripening in late August to early September.

BABY CRAWFORD - JULY 25-AUGUST 10
We named this variety ourselves, and we were the first to grow it for the fresh market. In flavor, it is reminiscent of the old heirloom peach variety, the Crawford peach. The Crawford variety was known for its juicy texture and classically rich peach flavor. Our Baby Crawford is even more intense in flavor than its namesake---a true poster child for fine fruit. These "babies" are a little small in size with golden orange flesh and only a slight blush, but we believe it's the most flavorful of all yellow freestones. Our customers seem to agree. It’s the hands down winner at many of our fruit tastings. Ordering this variety in advance is suggested because of its limited supply. It is excellent canned, dried or made into preserves, smoothies or sorbet. Ask for our easy Peaches and Cream Cobbler recipe.

BRITTNEY LANE - JUNE 25-JULY 5
Very good flavor for its season. Very early. Large, well-blushed , rich-tasting yellow peach with strongly acidic peach flavor. Yellow flesh is often tinged red. Sugar-acid flavor balance varies from year to year, according to the weather. A popular early peach.

CAROLINA BELLE - AUGUST 1-15
We grow an improved form of the old heirloom variety, 'Belle of Georgia', popular in the 1900’s. Good flavor balance similar to Silver Logan but matures a little later. Large, attractive fruit.

CHAMPAGNE - AUGUST 10-25
Champagne is a late white-fleshed peach with a sweet, pleasantly mild flavor, that is, less acidic than most of the older white peaches. Slightly blushed white peach that’s excellent for eating fresh.

DIXON CLING - JULY 25-AUGUST 10
This is probably the most flavorful cling and is often purchased by our customers who simply like eating it fresh out-of-hand. It has the firm cling-type texture but is also very juicy. Skin is blushed red, and there’s a little red around the stone; it is also an excellent canner.

“DONUT” (Peento, Chinese Flat, Saucer Peach) - JULY 15-25
We were one of the first in California to start growing these unusually shaped peaches. The flat peach or peento peach is an ancient form in China but has only recently gained popularity in the US. The strain (Stark Saturn) we grow has white, juicy, very sweet, aromatic flesh and is one of the most popular peaches at our fruit store. Also look for other flat or donut peaches we are offer with names like Jupiter, Galaxy, UFO and Sweet Bagel.

GOLD DUBLOON - JULY 20-AUGUST 5
This is a smallish, golden nimbus—a yellow flat peach with excellent flavor. Clingstone flesh is rich with abundant syrupy juice. “24 carat” quality. Also a great canner. Limited quantities.

ERNIE’S CHOICE - JULY 25-AUGUST 10
This peach was named after Ernie Christ, a New Jersey agricultural agent who first evaluated the variety. While the variety’s name may sound a little “hokey,” calling it Christ’s Choice, would certainly have sounded a bit presumptuous. Actually Ernie proved to be quite prophetic in his assessment of the variety, and many who have since tasted his choice would attest to its flavor as being absolutely “divine.” In many ways, it is reminiscent of an apricot: At maturity, the fruit is a deep orange in color. As it ripens and sweetens, it still retains some its acidity unlike many peaches whose flavor sometimes goes flat. This peach seems to just get richer and richer in flavor as it hangs on the tree; however, it does tend to soften quickly and is very delicate, much like a ripe Blenheim apricot. Because it is relatively unproductive, we only grow a few of these choice peaches. Please inquire early for availability; it’s often the subject of rationing.

FAY ELBERTA - AUGUST 5-15
For those devotees of the ‘Elberta’ peach, this is an excellent choice. Much the same flavor as the original but perhaps a little sweeter and with more color. It also has the same versatility, being ideal for canning, freezing, preserves, etc.

GOLD DUST - JUNE 25-JULY 5
‘Gold Dust’ is a high quality early peach, a yellow fleshed freestone with blushed golden skin. Superb, old-fashioned peach flavor. Limited quantities.

JUPITER - AUGUST 1-10
Coming right after another donut peach (Stark Saturn) we grow, the Jupiter; often larger and meatier than the earlier variety. Jupiter also has excellent flavor, and continues the season for our donut peaches.

KAWEAH - AUGUST 5-15
Pronounced KA-WEE-AH, a Native American name for a river near Sequoia National Park where the Kaweah tribe once lived . A very late yellow freestone maturing along with or slightly after O’Henry. It’s a smallish fruit with high coloration and high flavor. Its rich flavor and juicy texture make ‘Kaweah’ a favorite of our customers when in season.

LORING - JULY 15-25
Ripening just before ‘Suncrest,’ Loring possesses many of Suncrest’s attributes; it’s a delicious, golden yellow freestone that’s very juicy and can be eaten fresh, canned or made into pies and cobblers.

LAST CHANCE - AUGUST 25-SEPTEMBER 5
As the name suggests, ‘Last Chance’ peach is one of the latest really good peaches of the season. Remarkable quality for such a late ripening peach and is similar to Elberta-type peaches that ripen earlier in the season.

O’HENRY - AUGUST 10-25
‘O’Henry’ is a modern commercial peach with lots of red color and very firm texture. It is sold in many chain stores; however, few consumers have had the chance to try a tree-ripened O’Henry peach. When truly ripe, they are of excellent quality with a rich flavor and juicy texture. Excellent for freezing.

PALLAS - AUGUST 15-25
Modest, little greenish fruit with a pronounced beak. Doubtless named after the Greek goddess of wisdom and the arts but also referred to as the “Honeydew” peach because of its flavor, the Pallas traces its lineage not to Greece but back to the classic peaches of Chinese antiquity. The Chinese call this type of peach Mi-tao, or honey peach. It is often depicted in ancient Chinese sculpture: Statues of the Chinese God of Longevity are shown holding a honey peach, the fruit itself being a symbol of immortality. The Pallas’ drab appearance belies its supreme dessert quality. It is indeed the juiciest, most succulent, and arguably the most flavorful peach we grow. Flavor reminiscent of a ripe honeydew melon. Very delicate and bruise prone. One of the choicest of all peach varieties. Limited quantities.

QUEENCREST - JUNE 20-30
A small but choice early peach. A little golden orb blushed red. Sweet clingstone yellow flesh for those needing an early “peach fix”, it makes an excellent first-of-the-season variety. Quantities limited.

REDTOP - JULY 10-25
Beautiful and large, yellow freestone with an attractive red blush often with many sugar specks. It ripens early and is the first of the fine yellow peaches we recommend for canning and freezing.

REGINA - JULY 15-25
An older yellow freestone variety with old-time peach flavor. Golden color with just a little blush. Great for all uses.

RICH LADY - JULY 15-25
‘Rich Lady’ is another early yellow semi-clingstone. Highly colored skin and flesh. It has firm but juicy texture and rich flavor.

RIO OSO GEM - AUGUST 10-20
This is a very old variety and a peach with character: Not cosmetically perfect with goitered sutures and an occasional huge, bulging wart, but many older folks remember and love this old favorite warts and all. It was the first freestone peach recognized to possess firm, non-browning flesh suitable for freezing and having what has been termed a distinctive “orange” flavor. An old favorite among many peach lovers. Limited quantities.

SEPTEMBER SWEET - SEPTEMBER 25-OCTOBER 5
A very late, very sweet yellow-fleshed peach. A sub-acid type of peach and the latest peach we grow.

SIERRA BLANCA. AUGUST 1-AUGUST 15
A very high quality white freestone peach with excellent flavor balance of sweetness and acidity. One of the best late white peaches.

SILVER LOGAN - JULY 25-AUGUST 5
A superb white peach that often grows to enormous size. A real stunner: A beautiful creamy white skin blushed crimson, and it’s as good to eat as it is to look at. It has a melting texture and a luscious, well-balanced flavor with an almost intoxicating honey-like aroma. Probably the finest white peach we grow and a long time favorite at our fruit store.

SNOW GIANT - AUGUST 10-20
A very large, low-acid white peach that’s harvested after ‘Sugar Lady’ and ‘Summer Sweet.’ Very large size and very sweet flavor.

SUGAR LADY - JULY 15-30
‘Sugar Lady’ is one of the new low-acid white peaches. If you like very sweet peaches, you’ll love a ripe ‘Sugar Lady’ peach. It can grow to very large sizes and is beautifully blushed. Excellent for gifts because the fruit is so attractive.

SUMMER SWEET - JULY 25-AUGUST 5
‘Summer Sweet’ follows ‘Sugar Lady’ in harvest season . They are both similar in flavor, but ‘Summer Sweet’ may be a little richer in flavor with a little more acid than Sugar Lady. Very sweet flesh that still has a full-bodied flavor.

SUNCREST - JULY 20-AUGUST 5
The ‘Suncrest’ peach was made famous by David (Mas) Matsumoto’s book, Epitaph for a Peach, where he refers to it as the last of the truly juicy peaches. It’s an old-fashioned yellow freestone which has a fine flavor and juicy texture when ripe. It’s excellent for all uses. It’s a great canner, but sometimes it is not a perfect freestone until it is fully ripe.

SWEET BAGEL - AUGUST 25-SEPTEMBER 5
Very large and beautiful donut-type peach. Beautifully blushed yellow bagel-shaped fruit. Sweet, yellow clingstone but with melting, juicy flesh when ripe. Both handsome and delectable. Extremely popular at our farmstand. Nice “cling” flavor.

SWEET SCARLET - JULY 10-20
This peach is an early yellow peach with a sweet, low-acid (mild) flavor. It’s very sweet for an early dessert peach. Excellent when sliced and added to cereal.

TRI-LITE PEACH/PLUM HYBRID - AUGUST 8-15
This new hybrid peach/plum looks like a medium-sized white peach, but it has an unusually refreshing white peach flavor and finishes with a plumy aftertaste. Clingstone fruit is also very good for canning, and makes an excellent sorbet.

WHITE HALE - AUGUST 10-15
A white-fleshed heirloom variety. As large as the old J.H. Hale peach but with excellent old-fashioned white peach flavor. One of the tastiest white peaches. Similar in size and quality to Silver Logan but matures later.

YUKON KING - AUGUST 25-SEPTEMBER 10
Very large and attractive white freestone peach. A visual feast but also very tasty to those who like sweet, crispy textured fruit. Dense flesh with a low-acid , very sweet, white peach flavor. One of the best late season, white-fleshed peaches. A very large and beautifully blushed white peach.

ZEE LADY - JULY 30-AUGUST 10
A new hybrid peach with much red coloration on the skin and around the pit which sometimes splits. Excellent, richly flavored flesh when fully ripe. Many customers call it their favorite tasting peach. Probably too much coloration for canning, but it is a superb freezing peach.

BEAUTY - JULY 10-20
This is an old variety introduced by Luther Burbank. A beautiful early plum that’s large and heart-shaped. Skin is bright pinkish red with amber flesh tinged with red. An excellent quality, early plum.

BURGUNDY - JULY 15-25
Burgundy is a choice “blood” plum with deep burgundy-colored flesh that’s firm, crisp and sweet. Some are reminded of a hugh ripe Bing cherry after trying this crisp but juicy dessert plum. Many also like it canned or made into preserves.

DOLLY - JULY 10-20
This is a newer, early, Kelsey-type plum. It’s greenish to amber in color and usually blushed bright red on its protruding tip. The texture is crisp and apple-like with abundant juice and a delicate flavor. A favorite plum of many of our patrons.

ELEPHANT HEART - AUGUST 5-20
This is another of the “blood” plums--plums that have deep red flesh and red juice. It’s unappetizing name notwithstanding, this fruit is actually one of the best and most flavorful blood plums. The skin is sometimes a little tart which contrasts well with the rich, sweet flavor of the interior.

EMERALD BEAUT - AUGUST 20-SEPTEMBER 20
A very late-maturing plum. This large plum is amber-green turning a rich golden color. High sugar content but also with a strong core of acidity. Excellent flavor balance. When it’s well-ripened, it’s loaded with juice, crisp and bursting with flavor. Simply one of the very best dessert plums.

GOLDEN GLOBE - AUGUST 15-25
A very large, beautiful, golden globe. A fine yellow plum that’s a cross between the ‘Laroda’ and ‘Queen Ann’ plums. When mature it’s sweet and juicy.

GOLDEN NECTAR - AUGUST 10-20
A very large golden plum. Oblong fruit with a pronounced tip like a lemon. Golden yellow color throughout with squirting juice and succulent, very aromatic flesh. At its best when soft ripe. Several layers of flavor, with melon and honey predominating along with other subtle, more delicate flavors. A distinctive aroma that others also perceive as gardenias, and still others compare to rose petals and honey. Unsurpassed quality for dessert.

INCA - AUGUST 10-25
This old Burbank selection is a heirloom plum. An oval fruit tapering toward the tip, the shape being similar to ‘Golden Nectar.’ When ripe, this golden plum also has magenta specks and a magenta blush around the stem end. A singularly beautiful plum but scuffs and bruises easily. Rich, dense, crisp, apricot-colored flesh.

LARODA - JULY 20-AUGUST 5
Laroda is purple on the outside and amber streaked with red on the inside. It has long been considered one of the best flavored Asian plums with sweetness and a complement of sparkling acidity. It makes great jams and jellies.

OCTOBER SUN - OCTOBER 25-NOVEMBER 5
A very, very late plum that’s well worth the wait. Medium-sized yellow plum with red blush. Very high sugar content, excellent flavor. Incredibly sweet after a long, sunny summer.

PADRE - JULY 20-AUGUST 5
The Padre plum was developed by the USDA and first grown at Stanford University. It is a beautiful golden orb with excellent dessert quality. The skin can be pleasingly tart, thus balancing the sweet flavor of the sugary, dense but juicy interior. One of our highest quality plums.

SANTA ROSA - JULY 10-20
This is the Asian plum introduced by Luther Burbank with the famous “Santa Rosa” flavor—both tart at the skin and at the stone, but the flesh in between is pure succulence with a sweet, classic “plummy” flavor.

WEEPING SANTA ROSA - AUGUST 5-15
This is no cry baby but a “plum with aplomb.” The weeping descriptor refers only to the drooping growth habit of the tree, not the fruit, which is one of the tastiest, most aromatic plums we grow. It has “ Santa Rosa flavor,” but much more refined than the original with sweeter flesh and much less tartness at the skin. Droolworthy.

300LC98 INTERSPECIFIC PLUM - SEPTEMBER 10-25
(‘GRAND CLARET’ PLUM) A very large round purple plum with reddish tinged amber flesh. Lush, intensively fruity flavor. Plum, cherry, fruit punch flavors predominate with a hint of Juicy Fruit gum flavor. When tree-ripened, absolutely one of the best.

DAPPLE DANDY - JULY 25-AUGUST 5
This pluot, a complex hybrid between plum and apricot, is a large, round fruit with with mottled and speckled skin. Inside, the flesh is very light in color but flushed with crimson near the skin., and the entire fruit is crisp and juicy.

EMERALD DROP (7HC165) - JULY 20-AUGUST 5
This newer pluot is similar to the more well known Flavor Queen, but with a more balanced flavor. A little tartness at the skin. The fruit is straw to golden in color when fully ripe. Very sweet, apricot-like flavor with complementary acidity and very high sugar levels.

FLAVORELLA - JUNE 5-10
This one is called a plumcot because in appearance, it combines features of both apricot and plum. The fruit is a beautiful golden color with scant fuzz and amber, plum-like flesh. The flavor also is a rich commingling of the best of both species with a hint of tropical fruit. This variety ripens very early and is often in short supply.

FLAVOR FALL - OCTOBER 15-30
Large, round pluot is the latest pluot we grow and one of the best flavored. Deep maroon with a heavy bloom. Sweet, crisp.

FLAVOR GOLD - AUGUST 15-25
A large, round pluot . Color is bronzy gold with brownish speckles. Rich, sweet flavor.

FLAVOR GRENADE - AUGUST 15-25
A very large, very irregular in shape but mostly oblong, shaped somewhat like a kiwifruit. Often cosmetically challenged, its surface is usually lined with tiny rills with an occasional deeper crack or crevice. Even the color is something less than attractive: greenish, eventually turning chartreuse, with some purple mottling and reddish tints. However, we grow this one for its outstanding flavor and texture, not its looks. Very sweet with good acidity levels, crisp and juicy texture. When allowed to hang on the tree a few extra weeks it develops into a luscious fruit candy.

FLAVOR HEART - AUGUST 15-25
This is a huge, black pluot with chartreuse flesh. When ripe, it is incredibly juicy and sweet. Sometimes develops a syrupy pocket that’s comparable to “water core” in some apple varieties—an accumulation of viscous, honey-like syrup that literally oozes from the pit cavity when one takes a hearty bite into this fabulous heart-shaped fruit.

FLAVOR KING - AUGUST 1-10
Flavor King is one of the most flavorful pluots. It’s been described as having the flavor of the Santa Rosa plum but much richer - and it does not have a tart skin. Others will compare the taste to a very intense watermelon flavor. The flesh is a deep maroon color and very juicy. This pluot can be picked while still firm and ripened off the tree. Makes an excellent sorbet. We have a recipe.

FLAVOR QUEEN - JULY 15-AUGUST 5
Possibly the sweetest of all pluots with little acidity. A large golden colored fruit with golden orange, melting flesh having the flavors of melon, honey and roses. Superb. So rich and syrupy sweet, some have referred to it as a “piece of candy.”

FLAVOR SUPREME - JULY 10-20
Flavor Supreme is the earliest of the highly flavored pluots and ripens during Blenheim apricot season. Resembles a typical blood plum in appearance, but has very little tartness at the skin. Dark red flesh is juicy sweet, and richly flavored.

GEO-PRIDE - JULY 15-AUGUST 10
Rubescent fruit with many dots. Occasional small cracks. The sweet flavor is rather complex, best described as something of a fruit punch flavor. Dense, very juicy flesh. One of the tastiest pluots.

AUTUMN SWEET - SEPTEMBER 1-15
A very late ripening prune plum with excellent fresh fruit flavor---sweet with some lingering acid. A rich, grapey flavor with a hint of Muscat. Crisp, juicy texture. Very highly rated as a dessert prune plum.

COE’S GOLDEN DROP - SEPTEMBER 5-20
A veritable bag of sweet nectar when fully ripe. Very rich, sweet flavor. The famous epicure Edward Bunyard suggested that “at its ripest it is drunk rather than eaten.” A real “juice oozer.” One of the very old European dessert plums.

GOLDEN TRANSPARENT GAGE - SEPTEMBER 1-20
One of the larger gages with bronzy to golden skin often beautifully freckled with red dots. The skin is a bit tough; most prefer to simply suck the delicate, succulent flesh from its less digestible skin. The golden translucent flesh has a very rich, Moorpark-like, apricot flavor. Great for dessert and makes excellent preserves.

GREEN GAGE (REINE CLAUDE) - AUGUST 25-SEPTEMBER 5
Very small, greenish fruit. This is the famous Gage plum that has achieved cult status in England and continental Europe. Justly esteemed for its flavor; indeed, the variety itself defines the flavor. Rarely grown commercially in California, but we have a small planting of these iconic plums, and they grow beautifully in our coastal valley climate.

MIRABELLE PLUMS - AUGUST 10-30
The is a class of plums we grow that include ‘Mirabelle de Nancy,’ ‘Mirabelle de Metz,’ and ‘Herrenhauser Mirabelle’. All are small, cherry-sized fruits that many of our chef patrons purchase for dessert making and other culinary purposes.

REINE DES MIRABELLES - AUGUST 30-SEPTEMBER 10
The translation from the French is “Queen of the Mirabelles,” Aptly named, since it is the biggest and best flavored of the Mirabelles, a type of plum highly regarded in Europe as a culinary plum. Her highness, however, has excellent fresh-eating or dessert quality and also can be made into luscious preserves. Some believe it to be a cross between a mirabelle and a gage plum. Limited quantities.
